Charles Barber

joins Cognis Nutrition and Health as technical services manager. He is responsible for managing product and application development projects for key customers in the functional food and food technology markets. Previously, Barber was an applications specialist at Archer Daniels Midland Company.

Richard C. Brown

has been elected vice president of Grace and named president of Grace Performance Chemicals. Brown joins the company from General Electric Company, where most recently was president of GE Silicones’ core products.

J. Kevin Burgard

has been named president of specialty food ingredients and will continue as a vice president of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM). Burgard joined the company in 1986. He previously served as managing director of ADM International Ltd.

Scott Fredericksen

has been named president of North American oilseed crushing at Archer Daniels Midland Company. Fredericksen has held various merchandising and management positions within the North American oilseed division. He joined the company in 1983.

Deepak Ghosh

has been appointed industry leader for the chemical markets at GE Commercial Finance, Commercial & Industrial Finance. He will be responsible for driving organic growth in chemicals and allied industries. Prior to joining the company, Ghosh was responsible for corporate and investment banking at Bear Stearns & Co., Citigroup Inc. and Young & Partners.

Hans Kast

president and CEO of BASF Plant Science, has been elected chairman of EuropaBio. Kast started his BASF career 25 years ago in the polymer laboratory.

Tim Harris

has been appointed president and CEO of Novasite Pharmaceuticals Inc. Harris has been in the biotechnology industry for more than 25 years. Most recently, he was CEO of Structural Genomix.

Ron Morton

has been named vice president of sales at Brenntag Southwest. He has more than 30 years of experience in the chemical distribution business. Prior to joining the company, Morton was president of specialty chemical distribution at Univar.

Craig Tooman

has been promoted executive vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Enzon Pharmaceuticals Inc. Prior to joining the company, Tooman was senior vice president of strategic planning and corporate communications for Ilex Oncology Inc.

Mark Zenuk

has been named managing director of ADM International Ltd. Zenuk joined the company in 2000 and previously served as division senior vice president of North American and European vegetable oil operations. He will relocate to the company’s European headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
