LONDON (ICIS news)--French energy major Total has lifted its force majeure on paraxylene and orthoxylene from the Gonfreville aromatics facility in northwest France, a company official said on Tuesday.
The contractual caveat was declared on 29 September after production was forced to stop due to a lack of feedstock as a result of a strike at Total’s 343,000 bbl/day L’Orcher Gonfreville refinery.
Production at the 135,000 tonne/year paraxylene and 110,000 tonne/year orthoxylene units were restarted on 22 October at reduced rates.
Normal operating rates on paraxylene and orthoxylene were reached on 6 November, the official said.
