China's duties on Japan, US acrylic ester imports expire

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--China has stopped collecting antidumping duties (ADD) on acrylic ester imports from Japan and the US following the expiry of an ADD ruling, China’s Ministry of Commerce said.

The ADD ruling came into force on 23 November 2000. Under the ruling, Japanese companies were subject to duties of up to 60% on acrylic ester imports, while US companies were subject to duties of up to 69%.

The Ministry said on Wednesday that it had not extended the ruling as it had received no further complaints from relevant parties. Beijing Dongfang Petrochemical, Jilin Chemical Industrial Co, Shanghai Gaoqiao Petrochemical had all previously filed complaints relating to acrylic ester imports.

A separate ADD ruling on acrylic ester imports from Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea is still in place, and will expire on 10 April 2008, the Ministry added.
