Taiwan’s Hopax Fine Chemicals will increase its fine chemical production five-fold with the construction of a $20m unit in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
When added to the company’s existing plant in Kaohsiung, total production will rise to 900 tonne/year with the completion of this second unit in the second quarter of 2006.
Taiwan Hopax supplies the needs of the biotech and pharmaceutical industries with sulphonation compounds, biological buffers and detergents, waterborne polyurethanes, and chemicals for electroplating.
