LONDON (ICIS news)--Two separate December benzene contract prices were reported in Europe on Wednesday, down Euro87/tonne and Euro85/tonne from November, buyers and sellers said.
The first contract price was agreed at Euro490/tonne free on board (FOB) Northwest Europe (NWE), or $578/tonne FOB NWE. A separate second contract was settled at Euro492/tonne FOB NWE, or $580/tonne FOB NWE.
The November contract price was agreed at Euro577/tonne FOB NWE.
The 15.1% and 14.7% decreases reflected the fall in benzene spot prices during November. Rising inventories and a seasonal slowdown in demand were attributed to the slump in spot prices.
