MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA (ICIS news)--The American Chemistry Council (ACC) will get a major reorganization, president and chief executive Jack Gerard said on Wednesday.

He told the National Association of Chemical Distributors annual meeting that he expects to disclose reorganization details on Friday.

On Tuesday, five senior ACC executives resigned or retired: Charles Van Vlack, executive vice president; Rodney Lowman, executive vice president; Courtney Price, vice president; Terry Yosie, vice president; and Clifford Howlett, vice president and executive director of the Chlorine Chemistry Council.

Gerard took over the reins at ACC on 1 July, after heading the National Mining Association as it was integrated with the National Coal Association.

In recent years, the ACC has lost members such as Huntsman, Lyondell and Chevron Phillips Chemical. ACC recently launched a $35m (Euro30m) campaign to improve the chemical industry’s image.
