TORONTO (ICIS news)--The European Commission on Friday cleared the acquisition of Swedish chemicals holding company Sydsvenska Kemi AB (SSK) by French equity group PAI Partners.
SSK is 100% owner of Swedish specialty chemicals maker Perstorp, which is mainly focused on coatings markets. Perstorp employs some 1,600 people and had sales of over $800m (Euro666m) last year.
In a brief statement the Commission said it cleared the deal under its so-called simplified merger review procedure.
The seller is Industri Kapital, which also owns Finnish adhesives and resin maker Dynea. Industri announced the sale of SSK to PAI in October.
