Styrene goes into production of PSLONDON (ICIS news)--The first January European styrene barge contract price has been agreed at Euro904/tonne, an increase of Euro72-96/tonne or 9-11.5% from December, buyers and sellers said on Tuesday..
 
The contract, on a free delivered (FD) Northwest Europe (NWE) basis, was agreed on Monday (2 January) between two petrochemical majors. It was agreed after the benzene contract was confirmed at Euro603/tonne free on board (FOB) NWEup by Euro111-113/tonne or 23% on Thursday (29 December), sources at the companies said.
 
The producer described the styrene contract settlement as representing an average increase of Euro84/tonne.
