HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US production of phenol fell 1% to 738m pounds in the fourth quarter 2005 compared with the third quarter, said the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) on Friday.
The second quarter was the highest producing period of the year, with 815m pounds. Total phenol produced in the ?xml:namespace>
Producers said US phenol operating rates were at 75-80% in December due to weak conditions in the downstream bisphenol A sector.
The NPRA phenol production data was collected from Dow, Shell and Sunoco.
