Monsanto Company’s American Seeds Inc. subsidiary has acquired Gold Country Seed Inc. of Hutchinson, Minn., and Heritage Seeds based in Rensselaer, Ind., for a total of $8.7 million. The companies represent 0.4% of total corn and soybean seed sales in the US.
DuPont’s subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred will open a new research center in eastern South Dakota this spring for the development of new corn inbreds and commercial hybrids.
Omega-3 oil producer EPAX AS, formerly a division of Pronova Biocare, has demerged itself from its parent company. The new company will still be based in Lysaker, Norway.
