LONDON (ICIS news)--The first second quarter European butadiene (BD) contract has been agreed at Euro785/tonne, up Euro15/tonne from Q1, a producer said on Wednesday.
This agreement, made on a FD (free delivered) Northwest Europe (NWE) basis, was between a key Dutch-headquartered producer and a major German consumer, and was fully confirmed by the two parties.
At least three other producers signalled their support of this settlement, the consumer said.
However, some resistance was expected from other producers which have been attempting to achieve at least Euro800/tonne. Some consumers, too, were expected to show resistance as they were aiming for a rollover on the Euro770/tonne Q1 settlement.
