SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s Kumho Petrochemical will shut its 200,000 tonne/year polybutadiene rubber (PBR) plant in Yeochun for 20-25 days in May for annual maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

This latest announcement will furthen dampen buying interest for the feedstock butadiene.

Butadiene spot prices have fallen by more than $50/tonne in the past month to $1,250/tonne CFR Northeast Asia for April shipments, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
