SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--LG Petrochemical, the South Korean olefins producer, is likely start up its new metathesis unit at Yeochun a month ahead of schedule in November, a company source said on Wednesday.
"The construction work is going well, and we hope to start it up in November instead of December as originally planned," he added.
The plant, which would be able to produce 120,000 tonne/year of propylene, will use ABB Lummus' technology.
ICIS news reported earlier that part of the propylene output would be for captive use and the balance supplied to affiliate LG Chem.
