SINGAPORE (ICIS News)--ExxonMobil and Japan Energy have nominated their June Asian contract price for paraxylene (PX) at $1,120/tonne and $1,090/tonne CFR Asia respectively, up from the May settlement of $1,020/tonne.

A Japan Energy official confirmed his company's nomination on Wednesday, while an ExxonMobil official announced it late on Tuesday.

Nippon Oil and Idemitsu Petrochemical, two other leading PX producers in Asia, have not announced their June nominations. They are expected to nominate by the end of the week, traders and end-users said.

The nominations boosted sentiment in the spot market, with prices at $1,080-1,090/tonne CFR Taiwan after deals at $1,070-1,080/tonne CFR Northeast Asia yesterday.
