HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Gulf Stabililzer Industries (GSI), a Zamil Holdings and Chemtura Corporation joint venture, said on Friday it would increase capacity to make a blending-additive product by 35% at its plant in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The company did not disclose the facility’s capacity or the financial details of the expansion. A spokesman for the company did not immediately return a call on Friday.

The capacity expansion would be effective in the third quarter of 2007, the company said.

The product, Anox NDB, makes it safer and easier for customers to add components such as antioxidants and ultraviolet stabilizers to their polyolefin products, GSI said.

GSI, owned 51% by Zamil Holdings and 49% by Chemtura, said it chose the Al Jubail facility for the expansion because of the Middle East’s rapid growth in the polyolefin and other plastic manufacturing industries.
