DUPONT Jeffrey Keefer,

formerly DuPont’s group vice president for performance materials, is replacing Gary Pfeiffer as chief financial officer of the US group.

Pfeiffer will assist in the transfer until he retires at the end of the year.

Keefer’s appointment is one of three executive vice ­president positions announced by DuPont.

Thomas Connelly,

who was formerly senior vice president and chief science and technology officer, has becomes chief innovation officer.

Ellen Kullman,

who was group vice president for safety and protection at DuPont, becomes responsible for two business platforms, namely safety and production, and coatings and colour technologies; and for two corporate functions – marketing and sales, and safety and ­sustainability.

Keefer, Connelly and Kullman have joined chief operating officer Richard Goodmanson as DuPont executive vice presidents.

DuPont chief executive officer Charles Holliday comments on the move: ‘In their new roles, these leaders will build on the company’s positive momentum in increasing the pace of scientific innovation, accelerating the commercialisation of bio-based materials and strengthening our connection to customers and market needs worldwide.’

BP Robert Malone

has been appointed as chairman and president of BP’s US operations, replacing Ross Pillari who retires on 1 July. Malone was chief executive of BP Shipping and has been with the firm for more than 20 years.

A BP spokesman said ­Pillari’s retirement is not related to continuing investigations into the fatal explosion at a BP refinery in Texas City last year.

Shell chemicals Doug Alexander

moves to the position of vice president for finance chemicals, from vice president for finance Shell Oil Products Latin America. He replaces Rosemarie Mecca, who has left Shell.

Allen Kirkley

becomes vice president for strategy, acquisitions and divestments, replacing Sven Royall, who takes the role of vice president for customer services and intermediates. Kirkley was previously vice president for contracting and prodcurement for Shell International Oil Products.

Royall replaces Jan van der Eijk, who moves from chemicals to the new position of group chief technology officer.

Tony Verbraeken,

previously human resources manager for Shell Lubricants’ industry line of business, becomes vice president for human resources. He takes over from Mike Wilkinson, who has moved into corporate affairs.

Clive Grant,

former general counsel for the Shell Companies in northeast Asia, becomes lead counsel for Shell Chemicals. He replaces Hans von der Linde, now general counsel for ­downstream.
