The UK’s Scott Bader plans to expand its unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) capacity at its facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.

This investment will make it the largest polyester manufacturing plant in the Middle East, when it goes on line in Q2 2007.

The expansion follows hard on the heels of their last plant upgrade in September 2004.

Scott Bader supplies Crystic iso- and orthophthalic UPR resins, vinyl esters and gelcoats to the Middle East, North Africa, the Far East and the Indian subcontinent from it’s Jebel Ali unit.

Philip Bruce, managing director, said: ‘The investment should give our key customers in this important region a high level of confidence that we are committed to growing with them.’
