LONDON (ICIS news)--A fire last night at Total’s Antwerp cyclohexane plant has halted production, a company source said on Friday.

“From today’s point of view, the plant will be down for two weeks,” he said.

The outage of the 110,000 tonnes/year plant will not impact on market prices, the producer added.

“We have found a solution with our customers,” he said without elaborating.

Negotiations are under way for the third quarter cyclohexane contract delta over benzene. Most players were expecting something close to a rollover at the second quarter level of €145/tonne, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
