SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--The Polyolefin Company (TPC), a Singapore-based polymers producer, is shutting two units on Monday for maintenance in conjunction with a turnaround at its upstream cracker, a company source said.

The 200,000 tonnes/year polypropylene (PP) line and a 70,000 tonne/year low-density polyethylene (ldPE)/ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) swing line will be offline until end-August, he added.

Their shutdown coincides with a turnaround at Petrochemical Corp of Singapore’s (PCS) No 2 cracker, which can produce 615,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and 350,000 tonnes/year of propylene. All these units are on Jurong Island.

TPC’s other facilities, which include three PP lines with a combined capacity of 220,000 tonnes/year and an 180,000 tonnes/year ldPE line, are not affected.
