SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Tongsuh Petrochemical, South Korea’s largest acrylonitrile (ACN) producer, reduced operating rates at both its lines by 10% from 1 August due to high prices and tight supply of propylene feedstock, a company source said on Wednesday.
Both lines, with a total capacity of 270,000 tonnes/year of ACN, will be at reduced rates for around one month if prices remain high, he added. The lower operating rates will take out about 4,000 tonnes of propylene demand from the spot market, he said.
Regional spot propylene buyers had been struggling in recent weeks due to the high prices and tight supply. Spot propylene prices in ?xml:namespace>
