Nexsol sets up biodiesel unit in Malaysia

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nexsol, a joint venture between Malaysia’s Kulim and Peter Cremer (Singapore), will set up a biodiesel unit in Johor, Malaysia, the company said on Wednesday.

Nexsol M, the Malaysia-based subsidiary of Nexsol, will oversee the RM50m ($13.6m/€10.6m), 100,000 tonnes/year unit at the Biofuel Park in Tanjung Langsat port.

It will see its first shipment to US, Europe, Northeast Asia and Australia in April next year. The feedstock will be palm oil.

ICIS news has earlier reported that Nexsol Singapore will oversee a 100,000 tonnes/year biodiesel process plant on Singapore’s Jurong Island, expected to start up by mid-2007.
