Velsicol forms China jv for benzoate esters

LONDON (ICISnews)--US-based Velsicol Chemical Corporation said on Friday that it will form a joint venture with China’s Wuhan Youji Industries Co. to produce and market benzoate esters and polymeric plasticisers in Wuhan, Hubei Province.

 

Velsicol claims this facility will make it the first global producer of benzoate esters and polymeric plasticisers in the world.

 

The company did not disclose investment or capacity details for the joint venture.

  

Velsicol currently manufactures the Benzoflex brand of benzoate esters and Admex polymeric plasticizers at facilities in Chestertown in Memphis, Chattanooga in Tennessee, and Kohtla-Hirve in Estonia.

 

Velsicol was bought in October last year by private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners.
