SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Carotino, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s palm oil producer J C Chang Group, is to build its second biodiesel unit in Pasir Gudang port, Johor, a company official said on Wednesday.

The company operates another 60,000 tonnes/year unit in Johor which started production in July.
Both units use refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil as its feedstock and are based on the Malaysian Palm Oil Board’s (MPOB) technology.
The company said the new facility will be an integrated plant as it will harvest fruits, produce crude palm oil (CPO) and biodiesel.
It will also be able to produce both summer and winter grade palm biodiesel, which are used according to seasons, the official said.
