Gushan Group to build Sichuan biodiesel unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Gushan Group, a Chinese biodiesel producer, will build a 60,000 tonnes/year unit in western China by mid-2007, a company source said on Wednesday.

The company has received approval from the local government for the project at Mianyang, Sichuan province, he added.

Construction is expected to start soon and the project is due to come on stream around mid-2007, he said.

The new unit will bring the company’s total capacity in Sichuan province to 100,000 tonnes/year, he added. Gushan also operates a 100,000 tonnes/year unit in Fuzhou, Fujian province and a 30,000 tonnes/year unit in Handan, Hebei province.
