SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Carotino, a subsidiary of Malaysian palm oil producer JC Chang Group, will be exporting its fifth batch of biodiesel to Europe, a company official said on Tuesday.

It saw its first batch of exports to Europe in end-July and planned to ship two more batches there in mid-October, he said.

The company official added that the export capacity varies between 1,000-2,000 tonnes and that regular grade biodiesel is priced at $720/tonne FOB.

Carotino is able to export to Europe due to its ability to produce winter grade palm biodiesel, which is able to withstand lower temperatures in the region.

ICIS news earlier reported that Carotino’s second biodiesel unit in Pasir Gudang Port, Johor is to be completed in the third quarter of 2007, and that its first unit has already begun production in July this year.
