SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--CMS Resources plans to start production at its new 200,000 tonnes/year biodiesel facility at West Java, Indonesia in early December, a source with the Singapore-based firm said on Monday.
A second 200,000 tonnes/year facility located on Jurong Island, Singapore is scheduled to start production by late 2007, after the company receives approval from the authorities, the source said.
The company planned to invest a total of $90m (€70.8m) on the two projects, he added.
It expects to procure about 400,000 tonnes/year of palm oil feedstock, including 200,000 tonnes of refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil, for the two plants, the source said.
He noted that the company’s refinery has the ability to process other feedstock such as coconut oil and jatropha.
The source also said that CMR planned to export 90% of its products to Europe and Japan, with the rest of the biodiesel produced to be used for local consumption. He said that the company was considering China as a potential export market as well.
