HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Cytec Industries said on Tuesday it will build a production unit at its Wallingford, Connecticut plant to increase the manufacture of its Resydrol water-based alkyds.

The West Paterson, New Jersey-based specialty chemicals and materials company said the plant will come on stream during the first quarter of 2008.

The product is used in outdoor wood stains, a company spokesman said. The spokesman would not divulge the amount of the expansion or its cost.

The new unit would not increase employment at the facility, the spokesman said.
