Japan’s Oct PS output up 4.5% on Sept - JSIA

TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s polystyrene (PS) production in October rose 4.5% compared with September, Japan Styrene Industry Association (JSIA) figures showed on Tuesday.

 

The country produced 84,979 tonnes of polystyrene in October, up from 81,339 tonnes in September, the association said.

 

Polystyrene exports in October were 1,595 tonnes, down 4.1% from 1,664 in September and down 31% from a year ago.

 

Japan’s styrene monomer (SM) output in October was at 239,524 tonnes, a 6% decrease from September and a 10% decrease from a year ago, the association said.

 

Styrene monomer exports in October totalled 90,503 tonnes, up 9% from September and down 34% from the same period last year, the association added.
