SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Asahi Kasei Chemicals' 150,000 tonnes/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Kawasaki is about to restart after a scheduled turnaround from mid October, a source at the Japanese company said on Thursday.
"The turnaround is almost over and the restart may possibly be this weekend," added the source, stating that its 100,000 tonnes/year plant in Mizushima was operating normally.
Meanwhile, Tongsuh Petrochemical's 200,000 tonnes/year ACN facility in Ulsan, South Korea had already started up after a 30-day maintenance last weekend.
Tongsuh is an Asahi subsidiary. Its the other 70,000 tonnes/year ACN unit was expected to be down until mid December, the source added.
