TORONTO (ICIS news)--An explosion and a fire ripped through a US solvents and ink maker near Boston on Wednesday damaging about 30 homes, according to local news media.

An official at privately-owned CAI, the operators of the plant, declined to provide immediate comment when reached by ICIS news.

The fire destroyed several nearby homes and businesses and forced authorities to evacuate residents, according to the reports.
