TORONTO (ICIS news)--US adhesives and specialties maker H.B. Fuller said on Friday it has closed the sale of its powder coatings business to Valspar, the US coatings and paint maker.

Neither H.B. Fuller nor Valspar would disclose financial terms.

Steven Brazones, investor relations manager with St. Paul, Minnesota-based H.B. Fuller told ICIS news that the transaction involved three plants in the US and one in the UK, employing a total of 175 workers.

The sale would result in a positive financial impact of up to $68m (€51m) in H.B. Fuller’s fourth quarter, Brazones said, adding that this sum was not the sales price his company achieved.

Officials at Valspar’s head office in Minneapolis, Minnesota were not available for additional comment on Friday afternoon.
