TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japanese chemicals producer Tosoh Corp has delayed the completion of its 220,000 tonnes/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at Guangzhou, China, to the end of February 2007, a company spokesman said on Wednesday.

One of its two production lines, each with a capacity of 110,000 tonnes/year, will start commercial production in February or March, with the other unit coming online by April, the spokesman said.
The plant was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2006.
The spokesman added that the rates the units would operate at would depend on market conditions.
Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), PVC’s feedstock, will be shipped to the new plant from the company’s Nanyo factory in Shunan, Yamaguchi prefecture, ?xml:namespace>
