TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s polystyrene (PS) production in November fell 9% from the previous month, figures from an industry body late on Tuesday showed.
The country produced 77,350 tonnes of polystyrene in November, down from 84,979 tonnes in October, the Japan Styrene Industry Association (JSIA) said.
Polystyrene exports in November were 1,688 tonnes, up 5.8% from 1,595 tonnes in October and down 5% from a year ago.
Japan’s styrene monomer (SM) output in November was 268,720 tonnes, a 12.2% increase from 239,524 tonnes in October and a 7% decrease from a year ago, the association said.
Styrene monomer exports in November were 104,246 tonnes, up 15.2% from October and down 24% from the same time last year, the association added.
