SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nan Ya Plastics, Taiwan’s largest monoethylene glycol (MEG) producer, planned to start commissioning its new unit in January, a company spokesman said on Wednesday.
Raw material would be fed to the 700,000 tonne/year unit at Mailiao in February and it could start production by end-April, he added.
The company could also start operations at its new 130,000 tonne/year bisphenol-A (BPA) unit by end-April as trial runs were scheduled for January-February, the spokesman said.
Nan Ya has three other BPA units with a total capacity of 290,000 tonnes/year. It also operates three MEG units with a combined capacity of 950,000 tonnes/year.
One of the units, a 300,000 tonnes/year line, is a joint venture with another Taiwanese company, China Man-made Fibre Co.
