Lucite UK MMA plant work nearing completion

LONDON (ICIS news)--Scheduled maintenance work at Lucite International’s 200,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant at Billingham, UK, is in its final stages and should be completed on target, a company source said on Thursday.

 

“We should be back to a full bill of health by the weekend [23-24 December],” the source said.

 

It was hoped that resumption of full production at the plant, which is the largest supplier of MMA in Europe, would alleviate some of the recent tightness in the MMA market.
