SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--GS Palm will build a 100,000 tonne/year biodiesel unit in Kuantan, Pahang state, Malaysia, a company spokesman said on Wednesday.
The joint venture, with an undisclosed public-listed oil and gas company, is expected at start production by October 2007, he said, though he declined to comment on the project cost.
GS Palm will use refined, bleached and deodorised palm oil (RBDPO) and crude palm oil (CPO) as feedstock to produce palm methyl ester B100.
The company intends to export its produce to Europe and the US.
