Merck considers sale of generics unit - report

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--German drug and fine chemicals maker Merck is considering selling its generic drugs business, according to a news report on Wednesday.

The report, by German business daily Handelsblatt, said the business could be worth about $4bn (€3bn). Merck had declined to comment, according to the newspaper.
