LONDON (ICIS news)--Linde has acquired Russian technical gases supplier ZAO Samarsky Oxygen Plant (SaKiZ) for an undisclosed sum, the German gas and engineering group said on Thursday.

The company, located in the south Russian city of Samara, employs more than 200 people and produces and sells air gases (nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, helium and argon).

Linde said that SaKiZ is the market leader in the quickly growing economy of the Volga region.

"This acquisition is part of our growth strategy in the increasingly important eastern European markets," said Aldo Belloni, member of Linde’s executive board.

"We will continue to improve our market position in Russia with specific investments," Belloni added.
