The country produced 76,592 tonnes of polystyrene in January, down from 78,641 tonnes, according to the previous ICIS news report. The association said this was a 3% increase from the same period a year ago.
Exports of polystyrene in January increased 36% to 2,365 tonnes from 1,743 tonnes in December, which was a 76% increase from a year ago.
January output of styrene monomer (SM) rose 2% to 321,691 tonnes from 315,882 tonnes month-on-month. This was a 1% increase year-on-year.
A total of 161,214 tonnes of styrene monomer was exported in January, up 20% from 134,747 tonnes in December and up 11% from January 2006.
