Ming Dih to expand No 2 Taiwan EPS unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s Ming Dih Group, an expandable polystyrene (EPS) producer, plans to expand its No 2 unit in June this year, a company source said late on Monday.

The company operates two lines in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, with a combined capacity of 130,000 tonnes/year. Its No 2 unit, with capacity of 70,000 tonnes/year, is slated to be expanded by 36,000 tonnes/year to 106,000 tonnes/year.

The expansion, which will start in early June, is expected to be completed by early July, the source added.

Ming Dih has two EPS units in China, a 100,000 tonne/year unit in Zhongshan, southern China, and a 80,000 tonne/year unit in Changzhou, eastern China.

It also has a 30,000 tonne/year unit in Thailand.
