SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s petrochemical major Sumitomo Chemical will shut its polypropylene (PP) units at Chiba prefecture in end-August for a turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.
The facilities, with a total capacity of 340,000 tonnes/year, will be shut for 40-50 days, the source said.
The shutdown will not affect regional supply of homopolymer grades PP as the producer exports mainly terpolymer and off-grade injection grade, he said.
