BASF opens Malaysia product development centre

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--German chemicals major BASF said on Monday it has opened a new product development centre in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia to serve its engineering plastics customers in the Asia Pacific.

The facility is located at the site of BASF’s existing engineering plastics compounding plant, it added in a statement.

The new product development centre will help BASF deliver products in closer cooperation to its customers in the Asia Pacific region, said Hermann Althoff, Asia Pacific group vice president of BASF’s engineering plastics division.

It will also focus on the development of innovative products to suit specific market requirements in the Asia Pacific, said BASF.

BASF’s engineering plastics division also has technical centres in Japan, South Korea and China.
