LONDON (ICIS news)--The Linde Group has acquired Turkish industrial gases firm Birlesic Oksijen Sanayi AS (BOS) for €92m ($123m), the company said on Thursday.

"With this acquisition we complement our product range in the important strategic market Turkey and at the same time strengthen our position for supplying the neighbouring markets of the Middle East," said Linde board member Aldo Belloni.

The takeover of BOS is the second major transaction by Linde in Turkey, following on from its acquisition of Karbogaz AS in July 2006.

BOS, which employs a staff of around 180, generated sales of approximately €30m in the 2006 fiscal year.

The Linde Group, based in Germany, is an industrial gases and engineering company with more than 51,000 employees worldwide.

Following its acquisition of Britain's BOC Group in 2006, the company has gases and engineering sales of about €12bn.
