SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Reliance Industries is running two of its polyethylene (PE) plants at full capacity after restarting the plants last week, sources close to the company said on Thursday.

Its 160,000 tonne/year PE unit at Gandhar, Gujarat state, was shut in the second half of March for maintenance, and its 140,000 tonne/year PE unit at Nagothane, Maharashtra state, was shut during the same period due to technical issues.

The Gandhar line, which produces film and pipe grade PE, caters mainly to the domestic market.

The Nagothane unit, operated by subsidiary Indian Petrochemical Corp Ltd (IPCL), produces mainly yarn and injection grade PE for Reliance to export.
