Russia's Schekino Azot to build methanol facility

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Schekino Azot aims at starting construction a new 450,000 tonne/year methanol facility in May, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The plant’s new facility is due on stream in 2010, the company said, without disclosing further details.

OAO Schekino Azot, based in Tula region, south of Moscow, is a producer of ammonia and other chemical products. In 2006, the plant produced 385,000 tonnes/year of methanol.
