LONDON (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical announced increases of €75/tonne ($101/tonne) for its May Europe polyethylene (PE) business, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The chemical company said that industry demand for PE resins in Europe and around the world continued to be very strong.

In addition, feedstock prices, in particular for naphtha, related to the production of PE had reached record levels, the statement said.

Based on these conditions, Dow said it was implementing this price increase across Europe for all PE resins.

Other producers were considering their options for May, but all planned to target increases next month.
