SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--The Taiwanese government on Friday slapped a New Taiwan dollar (NT$) 120,000 ($3,616) fine on Formosa Chemicals and Fibre Corp (FCFC) for failing to provide warning signs at its ethylbenzene (EB) plant.

Taiwan’s Council of Labour Affairs said FCFC failed to provide signs at staircases in the factory to prevent non-workers from entering into restricted areas, the company said in a statement to the local stock exchange.

The company has carried out checks throughout the whole plant and made sure that signs were now in place.
