LONDON (ICIS news)--Basell plans to relocate its North American headquarters from Elkton, Maryland, in the US to a newly built facility by the end of the year, the polyolefins producer said on Wednesday.

“We are currently evaluating sites in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware, as well as the possibility of moving some functions to our manufacturing plants near the US Gulf Coast,” said president of Basell North America Michael Mulrooney.

The new facility would be the main location for all Basell commercial and administrative activity in North America, added the German group.

The current headquarters employs 250 people.
