Taiwan’s Ming Dih on track to complete expansion

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Producer of expandable polystyrene (EPS) Ming Dih Group is on track to complete the expansion of its No 2 unit in July, said a source at the Taiwanese company on Friday.

 

Capacity at the unit will be increased from 70,000 tonnes/year to 106,000 tonnes/year. The company operates two lines in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan. Its No 1 unit produces 60,000 tonnes/year.

 

“Expansion work on the No 2 unit has already started and would be completed in the second half of July,” said the source.

 

Ming Dih has two EPS units in China, a 100,000 tonne/year unit in Zhongshan and an 80,000 tonne/year unit in Changzhou.

 

It also has a 30,000 tonne/year unit in Thailand.
