HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical Company was named winner of a 2006 American Chemistry Council (ACC) Responsible Care Energy Efficiency Award, Dow said on Friday.

The “Exceptional Merit” award recognised longstanding energy efficiency and conservation efforts, including an energy intensity improvement of 22% from 1995 to 2005. The 900 trillion BTUs saved were enough to power eight million US homes for a year, Dow said.
